Last Monday the VESTING Board ’18-’19 was announced. You have heard their names, but that was about it. Therefore they introduce themselves another time.
Secretary
Hello dear VESTING members! My name is Fenna Beentjes and I will be the secretary of the VESTING Board 2019-2020. For those of you who do not know me yet, I will tell a little bit about myself. I am a twenty years old student and currently in my second year of EOR. Since last August, I can proudly say I am a philosophy student as well as I started taking some philosophy courses on the side. I’ve been a member of the magazine committee since my first year, and I am still enjoying this very much. When I am not studying,  you can find me at the student association Albertus Magnus or running in “ ‘t Stadspark”, probably with a face the color of a tomato. Before I moved to Groningen I played harp for ten years, but even though I say I am going to play again every time I go back home, I never do. I’m very excited to become a member of the new VESTING Board ’19-‘20 and I can’t wait to have an amazing year with everyone!

Treasurer
Dear VESTING members! I am Renske Zijm and it is my pleasure to announce that I am candidate treasurer of the 30th VESTING Board. For those of you who don’t know me very well, I will shortly introduce myself. I am nineteen years old and I am a second-year econometrics student. In my second year at VESTING I joined in the Magazine Committee. Besides my activities at VESTING and studying, you can find me at Gyas and Mayday. During spring and summer, you can also find me at Tweeslag, where I play beach volleyball. Furthermore, I like to surf, sail and run. Some fun facts about me: I love dogs. If there is a one in the room, I must cuddle it. If you want to cheer me up, a brownie will do good. And I can get really enthusiastic if an awesome car drives by. I can’t wait to start this year as member of the VESTING Board and I’m sure it will be an amazing year!

Internal Affairs

Hi! My name is Michiel van der Gaag and I’m very excited to become the internal affairs and marketing officer of the new VESTING Board! I’m 20 years old and a third year econometrics student. Having spent some time with the International Programme Committee at VESTING, I decided to apply for the board. Next to this, I am a member of Albertus Magnus and I try to exercise regularly. Last December I ran the Bruggenloop in Rotterdam, and currently I’m training for the semi-marathon of Haren, coming March! Besides, I’m a great fan of the films of Quentin Tarantino and Inglorious Bastards might be my favorite so far! I hope to see you soon at the VK!

External Affairs
Dear VESTING Members,
I’m Coert Schrijver and I will be the External Affairs Coördinator of the 30th VESTING Board. Allow me introduce myself for those who are unfamiliar with me. Currently, I am 21 years old and a third-year student. Besides studying I used to be a member of Gyas in my first year. During my first two years I also spend (some) time working out, unfortunately this ended due to a lack of discipline.
Next to studying I am also a student-assistant in the field of data mining. In other words, I am assisting professors and UMCG Ambulancezorg in their research regarding ambulance care with the use of data mining.
Regarding my history at VESTING, I have participated in the Introduction Weekend Committee (’17) and was a member of the notorious Data Analytics Team with chairman-to-be Jochem Hak.
I am eagerly awaiting to be a member of this year’s VESTING Board and I’m sure it is going to be an great year!

Chairman
My name is Jochem Hak and I will be the chairman of the VESTING Board 2019-2020. I am 21 years old and currently in my third year of EOR. I would describe myself as sports enthusiast and a fan of implementing econometrics in daily life as much as possible, for example by programming my own fantasy sports pools in R and excel. Furthermore I possess a great deal of impractical knowledge, which has won me many pub quizzes. I am looking forward to my time as (candidate) chairman of VESTING and I hope to make it an enjoyable time for all members.
